Lifesize Bronze sculpture

Annie Oakley (Aug. 13, 1860 – Nov. 3, 1926) using a .22 caliber rifle at 90 feet, could split a playing card edge-on and put five or six more holes in it before it touched the ground. She would also shoot apples from the top of Dave’s head as he sat on a stool in Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show.

The sculpture was commissioned for the Library of Leesburg, Florida where Annie, her husband Frank Butler, and their dog Dave enjoyed hunting during the winter months.

From 1913 to 1934, Vera was a champion trick rider, racehorse jockey, bronc and bull rider, worked in the movies and circus. She toured Europe and Asia with a rodeo troupe.

Number 1 of this bronze is in the Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame in Ft.Worth.
