Leaving Sand Creek

Bronze - limited edition of 25
A tribute to Black Kettle. After being attacked by soldiers on treaty land, Black Kettle escaped with the survivors of his tribe, and continued to proclaim peace with the U.S. He and his entire tribe were later wiped out in Oklahoma while displaying both a white flag and U.S. flag on his teepee.
Definitely not our finest hour.
The Harvest

Bronze, maple, granite - limited edition of 40
The Indian hunter is strung like a bow and waiting for the buffalo harvest. The Buffalo are emerging from relief to full view and the maple wood pedestal is angled to imply perspective downward.
The patina is silver nitrate and adds to the wild look.
